About us

What makes LCT a different kind of company?

LCT is a locally owned company that provides innovative transportation solutions for school districts and charter schools in the Twin Cities marketplace.

It's all about our culture.

We look for “Untapped Potential” - people with a twinkle in their eye, a smile on their face, and a desire to make a difference. We look for individuals who are flexible, creative, and think out of the box.

Our core values

Our company has been built on three core values as the foundation for everything we do:

Intentionality Playfulness Character

We want each employee to feel recognized, appreciated, and know their value. At LCT we know our drivers are the face of our company and we do everything in our power to provide opportunities for each employee to contribute to our vision of “Delivering Excellence With Every Trip”.

As a company we strive to be the best at what we do. We invest in our people, equipment, training, and technology to deliver unparalleled quality and service to our customers:

  • the students we transport

  • their families

  • school staff

  • and the communities we serve

How Can We Help?

Whether you are a school district or a charter school looking for a partner to help with your transportation needs, or someone who is looking for an opportunity to work for a company where you can make a difference in the lives of children every day - give us a call! Let’s see what we can do together.

  • Student transportation is a “split shift” schedule with morning and afternoon routes to get kids to and from school. The number of hours varies depending on the route. Drivers average 5-7 hours per day. We only transport students when schools are in session, so drivers have breaks during the year (Christmas, spring, and summer).

  • As a student transportation “contractor,” we offer higher hourly pay than many other jobs, but we do not provide healthcare benefits. Our drivers now qualify for unemployment benefits during breaks, and the ESST state program allows drivers to accrue hours that can be used for paid time off during the year. Any unused hours are paid out to the employee in early January.

  • Yes, we have a terrific training program that selects qualified candidates, helps them acquire the necessary permits, and then thoroughly trains the candidate on all aspects of conducting daily Pre-Trip Inspections, driving a school bus, and student management techniques for working with children.
